Abstract:

Writing a Fellowship application requires the ability to write well in the genre of personal reflective writing, which can be challenging for all, but arguably more so for those from STEM backgrounds (Hyland, 2008). In this workshop you will be given anonymised examples of HEA Fellowship applications from the Beacon scheme and asked to analyse, improve and develop them. This way we will demystify this writing genre and work towards communicating appropriately and successfully in Beacon submissions.
