The pandemic has prompted interrogation of teaching methods with a widespread shift in focus to active learning strategies. Team-Based Learning (TBL) is a highly structured collaborative active learning technique using a combination of individual work, group work, immediate feedback and tutor instruction where students hold each other accountable for preparation and contribution. This session introduces educators to TBL, and explains the various ways in which TBL can be incorporated into teaching. As part of the session, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a TBL workshop to observe how the technique works in practice.
