Abstract:
The enhancements to the academic teaching year and assessment calendar are supported by new guidance for assessment design that promotes teaching and assessment innovation (including synoptic approaches), and flexibility for programme teams. This session will explore the principles of a programme approach to assessment, the benefits of programme mapping, how and why to re-balance summative and formative assessment, and how to make assessment tasks more authentic.
