Welcome Week is your opportunity to find out all about the University and your course, and to meet all the important people you will be working with - academics, staff in your College, School and Department, and students that will be studying and living alongside you.
There is a lot going on over Arrivals Weekend and Welcome Week, with a range of online and on-campus activities to help you settle in and feel at home. Make sure you know what events you should attend for your course, as well as other activities and events that you won't want to miss from across the University and the Guild of Students.
Course induction and Welcome Timetable
It is very important for you to attend your course induction. It will introduce you to your course and what is expected, allow you to familiarise yourself with the key people, and help you to start making connections with other students. Use the Welcome Timetable to find out about sessions you need to attend.
You can also use the Welcome Timetable to explore the range of other activities taking place across Welcome, including events from the Guild of Students, to build your own personalised timetable for the week. Choose from activities including campus tours, sports, and music.
Explore the Welcome Timetable
We will continue to update the Welcome Timetable as the full programme of events and activities is confirmed, so make sure to keep checking back.
Will events be online or on-campus?
Like teaching and learning, this year we are taking a bimodal approach to Welcome with activities taking place both online and on-campus. Across your course induction and Welcome Week, you may experience a mixture of both types of events.
Large scale events, such as the Vice-Chancellor's Welcome Addresses and the International Welcome Celebration will take place online to involve as many members of our student community as possible.
Smaller group activities and some essential services may take place on-campus, to give you the opportunity to meet people in person and feel at home on our campus. Activities will follow current guidance to help keep you safe and well.
