Student ID card and Proof of Study

Your student ID card proves that you are a student at the University and gives you access to buildings and services including Meal Plan and the Library.  You can also access documents to prove your student status, if needed.

You need to complete Online Registration (including uploading a suitable photo) before you can get your student ID card. If you don't have one yet, you can collect your ID card from our Welcome Hub on campus. The Welcome Hub is open weekdays until Friday 8 October 2021 - find us in the big, white marquee next to the Main Library.

Getting a proof of study letter

A proof of study letter confirms your student status at the University, and can be used when opening a student bank account or applying for council tax exemption. New and returning students can access these online.

Returning students

Your ID card is valid for the duration of your programme and so you do not need to request a new card unless yours is lost, damaged, or the information on it has changed. If you need to request a new ID card for these reasons, you can use the online request form.
