Student ID card and Proof of Study

Your student ID card proves that you are a student at the University and gives you access to buildings and services including Meal Plan and the Library.  You can also access documents to prove your student status, if needed.

You need to complete Online Registration (including uploading a suitable photo) before you can get your student ID card.

If you are a new student with a home address in the UK and complete Online Registration by the deadline in early September (TBC), you will receive your student ID card in the post. If you live outside the UK, or complete Online Registration after the deadline, you will be able to collect your student ID card once you arrive on campus.

Getting a proof of study letter

A proof of study letter confirms your student status at the University, and can be used when opening a student bank account or applying for council tax exemption. New and returning students can access these online.

Returning students

Your ID card is valid for the duration of your programme and so you do not need to request a new card unless yours is lost, damaged, or the information on it has changed. If you need to request a new ID card for these reasons, you can use the online request form.
