Online Registration completed? Perfect. Here are a few more simple things you can do for a smooth start to your studies.
Setting up your student email, WiFi, and other useful services
Once you've completed your Online Registration, you'll have access to all our online systems, including the MyUoB app (a must have for all students).
During your time at UoB, your student email is the main way we'll communicate with you. Remember to check your inbox regularly from the moment you're set up, so you don’t miss any important messages. You can also access WiFi on campus and at accommodation sites, and use other resources like Canvas (our virtual learning environment), Microsoft 365 for free, and or libraries.

Moving into accommodation
For students moving into University or partner accommodation, you'll receive your offer and important updates via the Accommodation Portal. You can also use the portal to book your timeslot to move in. If you're looking for private accommodation in the local area, our Community Living team can provide you with advice and guidance.
It's also a good time to start to thinking about what to pack and bring with you.

Commuting to campus
We know that not all students move into university accommodation - with our own train station and our central location, lots of students choose to live at home and commute. You may already be familiar with the local area but Welcome is a great way for you to explore campus, get involved with events and activities, and meet other people including other commuter students. You can find our tips and advice for commuting students to help you get ready.
