Head down to the #hellobrum Day marquee from 11.00am - 4.00pm at the foot of Old Joe to find out more about the University’s cultural destinations and book remaining spaces on our exciting free tours. 

This event is supported by the Alumni Impact Fund. 

#hellobrum seminar: Secrets of the City

Join us for free seminar on the secrets of Birmingham. Topics include The Secret Life of Old Joe, Public Greenspaces, Hidden Spaces on Campus and the Birmingham Qur'an. The seminar is open to staff, students and alumni.

Free canal boat, bus and cycle tours

Whichever method of transport you choose, travel in style from the Edgbaston campus to the city centre. Spend time soaking up Birmingham city, then head back to campus for some more #hellobrum excitement. Book tickets in advance to save your space, or visit the #hellobrum Day marquee next to Old Joe on Wednesday to book your seat.

Travel to the city centre along the canal, taking in all the sights from the comfort of a traditional canal boat.

See all the city's highlights on a classic British double decker bus. Book your tickets for the bus tour in advance, or at the #hellobrum Day marquee on Wednesday.

Free walking tours of the local area

Get insider knowledge on the local area by taking one of our free walking tours, led by our students. Find out about the local shops, transport links and cultural landmarks.

Explore Selly Oak

Explore Selly Oak and get insider tips from our students about where to go for groceries, stationery, medicine and other useful items.

Tours are at 12 noon, 1:00pm and 2:00pm.

University to the City Centre by train

Take a guided tour into the city centre by train. Our students will meet you on campus, help you buy your ticket and show you where to go in New Street Station.

Tours at 11:00am, 11:30am, 3:00pm and 3:30pm.

Vale to the City Centre on foot

Take a guided walk from the Vale Village to the city centre. Along the way we will point out points of interest, such as local supermarkets.

Tour at 12:30pm.

Campus to Harborne

Explore Harborne High Street on this guided tour, starting on campus and heading to Harborne via Pritchatts Park.

Tours at 1:30pm and 2:30pm.

 Book your ticket in advance to guarantee a space, or visit the #hellobrum Day marquee next to Old Joe on Wednesday to book your place. All of the tours will be led by students to give you a student insight into the local area.
