Timetable and events

There is a lot going on over Welcome Week. Make sure you know what events you should attend for your course, as well as other activities and events that you won't want to miss from across the University.

Welcome Timetable and course inductions

You can now view and design your personal Welcome timetable.

It is very important for you to attend your course induction. It will introduce you to your course and what's expected, allow you to familiarise yourself with the key people and help you to start making connections with other students. Use the Welcome Timetable to find course inductions you will need to attend and to build your own personalised timetable for the week.

All courses should have an induction programme. If you do not have induction events on your timetable, you should contact your School or Department directly and ask what induction is being arranged for your course.

Be aware of what you should expect and the support available to you as you begin your studies.

Term dates and academic timetable

The Autumn Term begins on Monday 1 October, when your academic timetable will begin. You will be sent information about how to access your academic timetable ahead of Welcome.

Our key dates page includes information about semesters/terms, or you can visit the University's main term dates page to see dates for 2018/19 and future years.

Vice-Chancellor's Welcome Addresses

The Vice-Chancellor's Welcome Addresses are designed for new undergraduate students to be formally welcomed by senior staff in their College. Find out when your Address is being held and book your slot

Events throughout the year

The University also has lots of events taking place throughout the year - check our events page for details.

The Guild of Students also has lots of Welcome events, including Freshers' Fest and societies events, as well as events throughout the year, which you can find on the Guild's events page.
