Come and support this joint Fairtrade Association Birmingham/University of Birmingham event hosted by Oxfam Outreach Society.

Students from Holyhead School will lead a debate on the motion "This House believes that Free Trade provides the best means for attaining Fair Trade".

The debate will be followed by a presentation by Sheena Varghese, Director of Manarcadu Social Service Society (MASS), a co-operative of farmers who grow a variety of Fairtrade products including Arabica and Robusta coffees, cocoa, cinnamon, white & black pepper, vanilla, cardamom, coconut and ginger.  Sheena will talk about how Fairtrade benefits the farmers and help to improve food security.  The event will be followed by a drinks reception & networking.

Students and staff welcome.
