Welcome to the University of Birmingham! Teaching started on Monday 26 September, and we're still here to help you settle in as you say 'Hello Brum'.
Whether you're joining us for the first time or returning on a postgraduate course, we've put together lots of useful information and resources to help you get ready for your time here.
Our programme of Welcome Timetable has events through October, and our What's On for Students page runs year round to help you find all the events and opportunities taking place across campus. Welcome is a good opportunity to settle in, make new friends, discover Birmingham (aka Brum), and to feel prepared for your studies.
Make sure you also check your inbox and follow our socials (@unibirmingham) for the latest information, advice and guidance from current students plus lots more.

Get advice on what to do before you travel, how to adjust to life in the UK once you've arrived, and top tips from other international students.
Academic teaching began on Monday 26 September 2022, so you should make your travel plans as soon as possible. Remember that if you have a Student Visa, you can only engage with your studies and teaching once you are in the UK, so you should plan to arrive in good time for the start of the new academic year.
Deferred your place? Welcome Week 2023 (for the 2023-24 academic year) will begin on Monday 18 September 2023.
