Agnieszka is a Chair (Full Professor) in International Business. She is currently a secondee to the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), an initiative of the UN Global Compact based in New York (USA).
Prior her secondment she was a member of the Senior Management Team at Birmingham Business School and the first female Head of the Department of Strategy & International Business.
Agnieszka is an active accreditation accessor of the Accreditation of MBAs and BGA (AMBA/BGA), a collaborator with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), a working board member of the Responsible Research in Business and Management (RRBM) global network, Senior Editor of International Business Review and a member of several editorial boards of internationally recognized journals. She is also a frequent reviewer to leading international business and management journals, annual meetings of leading academic associations as well as various funding bodies.
Agnieszka’s research expertise is in examining the internationalisation processes and location strategies of firms. In addition to that her proficiency and interests is in methodological issues with a specific focus on using survey "big" data as well as the application of both responsible qualitative and quantitative methods in the international business and management scholarship and practice. By blending theoretical lenses and business models from international business, economic geography, management and strategy fields with computer sciences and data analytics, she helps and assists businesses, governmental organisations, charities, policy makers and individuals to better understand how to optimise decisions using credible, rigorous, replicable and trustworthy data and analytics to achieve higher returns and socially responsible outcomes.
Agnieszka has received numerous awards for her outstanding service to the academic community as well as her research that has been published in various leading academic journals. She has extensive teaching and research experience by holding several teaching and visiting positions at various universities around the world (e.g., UK, USA, Sweden, Poland, Singapore, and China) over 2 decades.
Agnieszka is recognised as an impact capacity builder and a promoter of knowledge exchange and engagement in relation to responsible research and education due to strategic initiatives she has developed and lead nationally and internationally as well as strategic partnerships she developed to promote responsible management education.
For example, in 2016 she found the Annual Strategy & International Business Symposium and in 2019 the Responsible Research Methods Symposium in the Department of Strategy & International Business at Birmingham Business School. In 2016, she co-found the Academy of International Business (AIB) Research Methods–Shared Interest Group (RM-SIG) at the Academy of International Business (AIB). In 2020 she found the Responsible Research in Business and Management on Tour (RRBM on Tour) symposium at the Responsible Research in Business and Management (RRBM) global network.
In addition to the strategic initiatives mentioned above, Agnieszka also actively develops strategic partnerships within the Higher Education ecosystem, leads and contributes to the development of her filed as a Track-Chair, Session-Chair, Panel Chair and Keynote at national and international recognised conferences and various doctoral colloquiums of leading national and internationally recognised events in her field.
