Dr Allahyari is an Assistant Professor in Operations and Supply Chain Management at the Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham. Her research primarily focuses on Operations Research, Optimization, Heuristics, Decision Support Systems, and Business Analytics for the areas of Logistics, Network Design, Operations and Supply Chain Management.

She has previous experience working with companies across various aspects of Operations Management, including Digital Transformation, and she also led on the Drone Medical Logistics project for the Solent Future Transport Zone Programme. Her research achievements include publications in leading internationally recognised journals such as the European Journal of Operational Research, Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review, and Computers & Operations Research, as well as top-tier conferences like INFORMS Transportation Science and Logistics. Furthermore, she has contributed as a peer reviewer for these range of globally recognized journals and conferences.

  • BSc (Hons) in Industrial Engineering, 2011
  • Diploma in Mathematics and Physics, 2006

Dr Allahyari welcomes PhD candidates who are interested in engaging with the broad areas of Logistics, Optimisation, Decision Support Systems, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Blockchain Technology, and Digital Transformation.

Research

Dr Allahyari is an active researcher in the field of Logistics, Transportation, Operations and Supply Chain Management. She applies Operations Research and Management Science methodologies, including Decision Science, Optimization, Heuristics, Metaheuristics, and Business Analytics, to address challenges in these areas.
