As a member of the Chicago-based collaborative, Haha (with Wendy Jacob, Laurie Palmer and John Ploof), I developed temporary public art projects. This work has appeared at The New Museum, New York; The Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; the Ludwig Museum, Aachen; Magazin, Grenoble; Castello di Rivara, and Aperto at the Venice Biennale.
I teach creative writing at undergraduate and postgraduate level and have a particular interest in contemporary US and European fiction, and in writing for the screen.
I’m currently completing a series of three novels ‘The Kills’, and writing a new novel ‘we were ok’ based on travels through India.

I organise seminars for the American Comparative Literature Association : ‘This is Not your Home’, ‘Home & Security’, on writing about cities and communities post-crisis, and representations of conflict.
