Title of PhD: Climate Change and Variability: The Impact on Climate-Sensitive Diseases up to 2050s for North-West Nigeria
Supervisors: Dr Gregor Leckebusch, Professor John Thornes
Auwal Farouk Abdussalam is undertaking doctoral research into the impacts of climate change on meningitis and cholera in North-Western Nigeria. He is using station data, health data, and climate simulations in the statistical modeling of the impact. He has recently presented his research at the International Open Science Conference organized by the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) in Denver, and at the Early Career Scientist Assembly (ECSA) workshop at the National Centre for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado, USA.
