Title of PhD: Brominated Micropollutants in the Steel Industry
Supervisor: Dr Stuart Harrad
Daniel is studying the emissions of Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and polybrominated dibenzo-p-dioxins/furans (PBDD/Fs) from the steel industry. He is using trace analysis chemistry to determine the concentrations of these pollutants in various air, soil, dust and raw material samples to try to determine the emission levels and identify any possible sources.
BSc. (Hons) in Environmental Science
Daniel studied his bachelor degree in Environmental Science at the University of Birmingham before continuing straight onto his PhD.
Daniel is a very keen football fan and a season ticket holder at Tottenham Hotpur. He also thoroughly enjoys playing sports for charity and has run several half marathons for Brainstrust and is a former joint world record holder for the longest ever football match, which lasted 57 hours to raise money for Meningitis Trust.
