Research

My thesis intends to re-examine the explanations for the events in Egyptian history from the reign of Merneptah through to the accession of Psamtik I over the entire country (approx. 1215 B.C. to 650 B.C.). This re-examination will be carried out through the use of comparative studies with other ancient societies and the use of social, political and cultural theories drawn from anthropology, history and other subjects, in an attempt to provide some alternatives to the current explanations and thus gain greater understanding of the events of the time-period under study.
