LLB Advanced EU Law

Students listening to a lectureModule leader: Dr Julian Lonbay

Module description:

Building on Legal Foundations of the European Union, which focuses on the EU’s constitutional and administrative framework, this module considers some of the rules laid down by the EU with which Member States, businesses and individuals must comply. Does a national of a Member State have the right to work, provide a service or set up a business in another Member State? If so, under what conditions? Do the EU Treaties contain any rules to prevent businesses from dividing up the internal market along national lines? If so, how are those rules enforced?

The module will be of interest to students interested in pursuing a career in legal practice or the national or international civil service or wishing to acquire a more rounded understanding of EU law.

The optional modules listed on the website for this programme may unfortunately occasionally be subject to change. As you will appreciate key members of staff may leave the University and this necessitates a review of the modules that are offered. Where the module is no longer available we will let you know as soon as we can and help you make other choices.
