Teaching Spanish language for undergraduates has been both a challenge and a pleasure for the past seven years. I sincerely hope to continue doing so for many coming years.

Biography

M. Rosa Sánchez joined the Department in September 2004 as a Colloquial Assistant for Spanish. After taking a BA in Spanish, English and German Language & Literature from Cadiz University (which also included the study of Arabic), she successfully completed that university's Postgraduate Teacher-Training programme (C.A.P.) in Modern Languages and Literatures, going on to teach English Language and Literature on academic and vocational programmes there. She also completed doctorate courses on English Literature and Linguistics at the University of Cadiz, achieving the Suficiencia Investigadora after two years.  During her time at the University of Cadiz as an associate lecturer (from 1997-2004), she taught in two different programs of study: for students of English Philology (Introduction to English Literature, English Literature 20th Century, Functional Grammar)and for Students of English for Specific Purposes in the Faculties of Business Studies, Medicine and Naval Engineering (English for Business Students, English for Scientific Writing, English for Naval Engineers).

In 2008 she was appointed Assistant Language Instructor and finally became Language Instructor for the Department in 2010.

During her time at the University, she also taught language courses for the Centre of Modern Languages, specifically from 2004 and 2008. She currently teaches and prepares students for the DELE exams (Instituto Cervantes’s official exams) at the Brass House Centre for Adult Education.
