Stacey Law is an Assistant Professor in Algebra in the School of Mathematics. Her main research interests are in the representation theory of finite groups and algebraic combinatorics. Her recent research focuses on the representation theory of symmetric groups and their Sylow subgroups, as well as plethysms of Schur functions and their connections.

Biography

Stacey Law completed her BA/MMath in 2015, followed by a PhD in 2019, at the University of Cambridge. After a London Mathematical Society Early Career Fellowship at the University of Oxford in 2019, she was then the Meggitt Research Fellow and Director of Studies in Pure Mathematics at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, until 2023. Stacey joined the School of Mathematics at the University of Birmingham as an Assistant Professor in Algebra in October 2023.
