Alba Fedeli’s talk covers the history of the Mingana Collection of Middle Eastern Manuscripts, how it came to be at the University of Birmingham and some of the recent discoveries and highlights of the collection, including Ancient Qur’anic Fragments.  

With more than 3,000 manuscripts in over 20 ancient languages on subjects from philosophy to mathematics, the Mingana Collection holds a wealth of information on the history and cultures of the Middle East.

During the talk examples from the Mingana Collection, which is designated as being of Outstanding International Importance, will be on view.

This talk is given by Alba Fedeli, post doctoral researcher at the University's Institute for Textual Scholarship and Electronic Editing.
