Biography

I have recently submitted my PhD at Aston University in ‘The Visual Representation of Refugees and Asylum Seekers,’ awaiting Viva. While completing my PhD, I also taught on a number of undergraduate social science modules focusing on research methods, identities and inequalities in society, and migration discourse in the media. I have co-authored a paper with Dr. Katie Tonkiss titled ‘Loners, Criminals, Mothers: The Gendered Misrecognition of Refugees in the British Tabloid Media’ which you can view here.
