I co-ordinate the campus and distance MAs in Translation Studies within CELS.
Qualifications
I have a degree in Legal Translation from the Universidad de la República, Uruguay, an MPhil in Translation Studies from UMIST (now University of Manchester), and a PhD in Translation Studies from Dublin City University.
Biography
I joined CELS in 2007. Before that I worked as a Lecturer in Translation and Language Engineering at Imperial College London, I lectured part time at Dublin City University, Ireland, and I worked as a research assistant on the Translational English Corpus project at UMIST (now University of Manchester) I also worked for several years as a free-lance translator.
Teaching
I teach modules on Translation Theory and Translation Technology at postgraduate level, and contribute to other modules on Corpus Linguistics and Research Methods.
Postgraduate supervision
I supervise MPhil and PhD students on a range of subjects and would welcome the opportunity to work with PhD students in the following areas:
