About

Anne-Marie is a Lecturer and Admissions Tutor on the Social Work Programme, within the Institute of Applied Social Studies. She is a qualified and HCPC registered Social Worker, and has worked in a range of statutory Children & Families settings. Her practice and research interests include children and young people involved in the youth justice system, specifically children in custodial contexts.

Biography

Anne-Marie is a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy and represents the University on the JUC-SWEC Learning and Teaching committee. Prior to joining the University of Birmingham, Anne-Marie was a Lecturer at the University of Salford, Manchester, and Programme Leader for the PQ Professional Studies Childcare Award. Before this she was a Local Authority Staff Development & Training Manager, following a number of years in statutory Social Work practice. Her teaching and research areas include Children and family social work and Inter-professional working. Anne-Marie also acts as a Practice Tutor for students on the University Social Work programmes.
