Today, more and more sports organisations recognise a key source of gaining and sustaining a competitive advantage is their employees. Therefore, it is imperative that those within sports organisations understand how to effectively manage, lead and develop their staff.

This module examines the key concepts, approaches and strategies involved in the effective leadership and management of people within sports organisations. Within an appreciation of contemporary contexts, specifically it covers the key functions of employee recruitment, selection and retention, employee development, employee engagement, and performance management.
