Development
The Development team aims to encourage individuals, alumni and trusts and foundations to support the University through philanthropy, with programmes for Regular Giving and Major Gifts.
Regular Giving
As well as appealing to alumni through direct mail, we recruit a team of student callers who telephone our former students to update them on what it is like to be a Birmingham student today and to ask them to support our fundraising projects. We highlight that every gift makes a difference when asking our alumni to give.
Gifts in Wills
The University of Birmingham is fortunate to have benefited from gifts in wills throughout our history, with our alumni, staff and friends enhancing research, developing campus and supporting the next generation of students. Each legacy plays a vital role in our work and even a small percentage of your assets can have a transformative impact.
Major Gifts
The team builds long term, mutually beneficial relationships with individuals, trusts, foundations and companies with the ability to make transformative, targeted major gifts to help accelerate the University's progress across a number of areas, such as health research and student support.
