We have a long tradition of welcoming students from Slovakia. There are currently 17 Slovakian students following a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University.

Undergraduate

Holders of the "Vysvedcenie o Maturitnej skúska/Maturita" will be considered with the following grade equivalencies: 

A*AA: 1/výborný in four subjects (if any other subjects have been taken they must be graded no lower than 2) 
AAA: 1/výborný in three subjects, other subject(s) taken must be graded no lower than 2 
AAB: 1/výborný in two subjects, other subjects taken must be graded no lower than 2 
ABB: 1/výborný in one subject, other subjects taken must be graded no lower than 2 
BBB: 2 in all subjects  

Subject specific requirements: 
A* & A - 1 
B - 2 

Postgraduate

Holders of a good three-year Bakalár or pre-2002 Magister from a recognised Slovakian Higher Education institution with a minimum overall grade of 1.5, B, Vel’mi dobrý ‘very good’ for 2:1 equivalence, or 2, C, Dobrý ‘good’ for 2:2 equivalence, will be considered for entry to taught postgraduate programmes. 

Holders of a good three-year Bakalár or pre-2002 Magister from a recognised Slovakian Higher Education institution with a minimum overall grade of 1.5, B, Vel’mi dobrý ‘very good’, and/or a good Inžinier or a post-2002 Magister from a recognised Slovakian Higher Education institution will be considered for entry to postgraduate research programmes.

English Language

You will be required to provide evidence of your English ability. Please view the entry requirements for specific programme requirements.

If you do not have the required level of English or would like to improve your English before the start of the academic year, you can take one of our pre-sessional English language courses.

Funding

Undergraduate and postgraduate EU students (subject to meeting the eligibility criteria) starting their studies in 2018 or 2019 can apply for government loans for the duration of their course.
