Scholarships for international students

Explore our wide variety of scholarships available for international students.

At Birmingham, we believe in removing all barriers to education, so all of our talented students can achieve their full potential.

This year, we’ve increased our international scholarship funding to approximately £3 million, rewarding outstanding achievement and helping more international students to study with us.

This is complemented by additional funding opportunities from individual Colleges and esteemed partners like Chevening and the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission. These scholarships not only celebrate outstanding achievements but also reflect our dedication to making world-class education accessible to more students from around the world*.

Below you can find further information about the international scholarship programmes that the University directly supports either by administering, coordinating or funding (highlighted in bold text) and also external sources of funding that may be available to you. These scholarships are open to international applicants who are 'overseas' for fees purposes.

If you have any additional questions about these scholarships, please review the individual scholarship webpages for further contact details.
