Rosedale Global High School Undergraduate Entrance Scholarship

The University of Birmingham is pleased to announce two £5,000 scholarships for Rosedale students in China starting undergraduate programmes in September 2026.

The University of Birmingham and Rosedale International Education will each provide  one £5,000 scholarship for Rosedale students domiciled in China applying for entry to an undergraduate programme starting September 2026. 

The scholarships will be awarded to the highest performing students starting their University of Birmingham programme in the 2026/2027 academic year. 

The allocation of the award will be made based on academic excellence and a willingness to support the University through volunteering whilst studying at the University.

By accepting the award, the scholar will agree to support the University by, for example, helping with future student visits, being available for testimonials/ photos/videos for marketing purposes and engaging in other activities such as blogging (where required).

Who can apply?

The allocation of the award will be made based on academic excellence and a willingness to support the University in promoting the courses and facilities through volunteering whilst studying at the University.

To be eligible, candidates must:

  • Have graduated from Rosedale Global High School in any applicable location with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
  • Have received an offer and selected the University of Birmingham as their firm choice for a full-time undergraduate programme starting September 2026. The student must be entering the first year of an undergraduate programme based at Birmingham’s UK campus.
  • Meet the academic conditions of their offer to the programme.
  • Be classed by the University as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes and be able to pay the outstanding tuition fees not covered by the scholarship.
  • Have sufficient funds to cover the full cost of living at the University of Birmingham, plus any visa/travel expenses associated with studying in the UK.
  • Start their studies at the University in September 2026 (the scholarship award cannot be deferred).
  • Upon enrolment in September 2026, pay their net tuition fees for the first year by 1 November, immediately following enrolment.

How to Apply

No application is necessary.

Rosedale Global High School and The University of Birmingham will jointly identify the two highest achieving students who meet the eligibility requirements. Before 12 June 2026, Rosedale will send a student list of nomination to the University of Birmingham. Successful scholarship awardees will be asked to complete a form to accept the award and agree to participate in activities that promote the University of Birmingham by, for example, helping with future student visits, being available for testimonials/ photos/videos for marketing purposes and engaging in other activities such as blogging (where required).

If the nominated student declines the terms, the next highest achieving student will be offered the award.

The Scholarship will be awarded upon enrolment of the student on their programme in September 2026.  

One successful scholarship awardee will receive their scholarship provided by the University of Birmingham by tuition deduction from the first-year tuition fees only, and the other successful scholarship awardee will receive their scholarship directly from Rosedale Global High School.

Are there any programmes excluded from receiving this scholarship?

Please note that students already registered and studying on a programme at the University of Birmingham in the UK, and students applying for the following subjects and programmes are NOT eligible for this scholarship:

  • MBChB Medicine and Surgery
  • BDS Dental Surgery

Can this scholarship be combined with other scholarships?

This scholarship can be held in conjunction with scholarships, terms and conditions of both scholarships permitting, but not with any full University of Birmingham scholarship or any partial or full external scholarship.
