The University of Birmingham delegation of academics and admissions are coming to China to meet with prospective students and offer holders in this academic year. We hosted an Offer Day Event in Beijing on 15 November, and we are planning for a series of China Open Day events in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou towards end of March 2026.

The University is pleased to announce a number of £1,000 dedicated scholarship for Postgraduate Taught and Undergraduate applicants / offer holders attending these events who have good engagement with academics or have outstanding performance at the spot-offer interviews.

Who can apply?

In order to be eligible, candidates must sign up and attend the in-country events in mainland China mentioned above and check in on the day as instructed.

Open to students living in (domiciled) in the following countries: China

What are the Terms and Conditions for this scholarship?

The scholarship is £1,000 awards towards tuition fees (for the first year only) of a full-time Undergraduate or Postgraduate Taught degree programme at the University of Birmingham UK campus, starting September 2026.

By accepting the award, the scholar will agree to support the University by helping with future student visits, being available for testimonials/ photos/videos for marketing purposes and engaging in other activities such as blogging (if required).

When will successful candidates be notified?

Decisions will be announced within 8 weeks of the scholarship application and will be awarded upon the students’ enrolment in September 2026.

Please note if we have not contacted by this time, your scholarship application has not been successful.

Can this scholarship be combined with other scholarships?

This scholarship can be held in conjunction with scholarships issued by other University of Birmingham departments, terms and conditions of both scholarships permitting, but not with any full University of Birmingham scholarship or any partial or full external scholarship.
