You'll build a deep understanding of theoretical and practical, organic, inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry.
You'll also see how they all come together in specialist modules on drug discovery and medicinal chemistry.

You'll learn about what makes a good medicine and how molecules behave in the body, how they interact with their target, and the different ways in which drug molecules can be delivered.

You'll spend a lot of time in years 1 to 3 in practical classes.
You'll do those in our Collaborative Teaching Laboratory which is a £40 million development that has equipped our undergraduates with some of the best lab facilities in the country.
For students on the integrated Master's programme, you will also join one of the leading research groups who are based in the Molecular Sciences building - the new home for chemistry at Birmingham.
