Transcript

Welcome, ladies and gentleman, to the University of Birmingham Masters in Advanced General Dental Practice. You are very welcome to this exciting project that we have developed over the last year. Actually not the last year because the Masters in Advanced General Dental Practice is derived from the Master course which has been running live here at the University of Birmingham for the past eleven years. We have acted on feedback from the students and we are absolutely confident that the content of the course now is exactly what general dentists worldwide actually need.

This is a general degree, it’s not a specialist degree, but I’m a restorative dentist by training and therefore it will not be a surprise to you to realise that the majority of the course content actually relates to restorative dentistry, principally because this of course is what general dentists spend their life doing or maybe thinking about doing and I’ve had twenty five years experience myself in general dental practice in Manchester in the UK.

You will have contact with leading authorities in their field from the University of Birmingham and in areas where we feel we do not have the correct amount of specialist knowledge, we will import lecturers from around the UK. So, this we feel is a wonderfully exciting project and we are very very pleased to have you join us on it.
