Dr Anthony Murphy 

Dr Anthony Murphy profile pictureAnthony Murphy is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology and Programme Director for Psychology at the University of Birmingham Dubai.

Anthony has a background in forensic and clinical forensic psychology and has published several research papers in areas of policing and investigation of violent crimes against the person and clinical management in psychiatric care.

He is an enthusiastic researcher, educator, and psychologist working with national and international collaborators on victim and service-user focused research. He is a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society, Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Olivia GoncalvesOlivia Goncalves BSc MSc

Olivia Goncalves joined the University of Birmingham as Deputy Director of Foundation Psychology in Dubai. Olivia is passionate about learning and the student experience and has significant experience in Higher Education in the Middle East. She pioneered the School of Foundation Studies for Curtin University in Dubai and established the Foundation Program. During her tenure as Head of School of the Foundation Studies, she was involved with a number of activities including moderating a panel on Women Leadership and leading workshops at various schools in the UAE.

Olivia was also responsible for overseeing the Teaching and Learning Centre of the University, during which she introduced and successfully implemented an intervention program to support learning among at risk students. Her program improved overall student performance at the Foundation level. Olivia’s research interests include cognitive learning and diversity in leadership.

Oliver Bones PhDOlly_Bones2

Oliver Bones is a Lecturer in Psychology and Head of Year 1 for BSc Psychology at the University of Birmingham Dubai. He qualified with a BSc in Psychology from Sheffield Hallam University in 2002. He went on to study for an MSc in Audiology at the University of Manchester in 2011, before studying for a PhD, also awarded at University of Manchester in 2014.

Olly also has a Higher National Diploma in Music Production, and a passion for music which has informed several of his research publications.

Rasha Bayoumi PhD, BSc, MSc Rasha Bayoumi

Rasha Bayoumi is a health psychologist. She has been involved in research, clinical practice and teaching for the past two decades, in Canada, the UK, US, Sudan and Oman. She has worked for the World Health Organization on mental health and reproductive health. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Her research interests include reproductive health, infertility and pregnancy loss, gender-based violence, women’s health, quality of life, diabetes and eating disorders. She has extensive experience working on multicultural and multidisciplinary projects.
