If you take and pass the elective modules required for the professional qualifications (namely, International Treasury Management and Risk Analysis and Management) and satisfy the other requirements for the qualifications, you will be eligible for the award of the Certificate in Treasury Fundamentals (CertTF) and the Certificate in Treasury (CertT), in addition to your MSc Financial Management degree;
  • You will benefit from hands on training on financial markets simulations and programs similar to those used by major investment banks;
  • You will learn how to conduct research, how to collect data to use for the research, analyse the data, interpret the results of your data analysis and write a research report;
  • You will also work with a wide range of databases (such as WRDS, Compustat, CRSP, Capital IQ, BoardEX, MorningStar, BankFocus, CSMAR, Datastream, ThomsonOne and FAME.) and learn how to analyse the data and draw conclusions from the results obtained.  The software is the same as the one that is widely used in industry and will give you experience which will prepare you for your professional career.

How To Apply

Our Standard Requirements

In order to be considered, applicants will have or should be expecting to achieve an Honours degree (2:1 or higher) or postgraduate diploma from a UK university (or overseas equivalent) in a highly quantitative subject. 

Applicants must have achieved a mark equivalent to a 2:2 at undergraduate level in Mathematics or Mathematics related modules. If necessary we will assess the academic transcript for performance in Mathematics and Mathematics related modules. A minimum of GCE A-Level grade D (or overseas equivalent) in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics or Statistics may also be considered to meet the quantitative requirement. 

Applicants who demonstrate being able to exceed the minimum entry requirements will be given preference.

International Requirements



International Students

Standard English language requirements apply (6.5 IELTS (no less than 6.0 in any band).


  • IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any band
  • TOEFL: 88 overall with no less than 21 in Reading, 20 in Listening, 22 in Speaking and 21 in Writing
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) including online: PTE Academic 67 with no less than 64 in all four skills
  • Cambridge English (exams taken from 2015): Advanced – minimum overall score of 176, with no less than 169 in any component

You will benefit from a hands-on teaching and learning approach, providing you with a unique educational experience and allowing you to enhance your competitiveness in the financial world. Teaching methods include a mix of lectures, seminars, and classes. External speakers with a wide range of industry expertise are regularly invited to deliver guest lectures. Audio-visual materials ranging from video presentations to interviews with industry experts are also an integral part of the teaching.

Course delivery

We offer a combination of evening and weekend classes which are designed to accommodate working professionals and those who choose to study full-time.

Our draft timetable for Full-time students is designed to deliver teaching on one or two evenings from 18:00-21:00 and on Saturday from 09:00-15:00 (timings vary per module). Each module is block taught over 3 weeks. Part-time students will study during these hours as per the number of modules they choose to study.

Assessment Methods

Assessments focus on real-world challenges and help you to develop self-confidence to deal with the global investment and finance communities. Assessment include a combination of case studies, digital presentations, oral debate, written exams, individual and group assignments and a dissertation.

 

Dubai is a financial hub with strong demand for financial management graduates who will have both the knowledge and skills for working in banks, insurance companies, stock broking firms and other industries in the finance sector in Dubai.  Graduates from the programme will also gain theoretically underpinned knowledge and skills on the MSc Financial Management programme that can be used to work in the treasury departments, corporate finance, investment banking, and financial consulting in companies in Dubai as well as in multinational companies that operate globally, government departments and other organisations.
