Your programme of study

Foundation year

Designed for international students who require a preparatory year prior to undergraduate study, the foundation course is equivalent in learning to year 13 of the UK education system. Successful completion of year 1 of the foundation course will also guarantee you progression onto the Business Management with Marketing programme. You will need at least 100 credits, an average of at least 60%, at least 60% in Academic English and Study Skills and at least 65% in Quantitative Methods for Business and Economics.

We will ensure you're fully prepared for your undergraduate programme, immersing you in the university environment and giving you dedicated support in your first year in Dubai, on our business management foundation course.

The BSc Business Management with Marketing and Year in Industry programme

Your first year will introduce you to key areas in the study of business as well as focusing on Principles of Marketing. It introduces the key themes of management, marketing, entrepreneurship, economics, finance; law, purchasing, accounting, analytical techniques, and more generally, IT for business.

In your second and final years you will have the ability to build your degree depending on your interests and career aspirations. We are constantly updating the range of modules on offer to reflect the ever-changing world of business. This ensures that your degree remains sufficiently generalist to give you a wide choice of career options on graduation.

The year in industry component of the course is divided into two separate placements. You will take the first placement at the end of year one and the second placement at the end of year two. The placements will have a marketing focus so you can gain experience and further your industry knowledge and skill set. Our Employer Engagement Manager will support you through the placement process.

Being able to specialise in this area is important to me as I aspire to work in the marketing area of business in the future, therefore gaining this deeper knowledge of marketing satisfies both my hunger to explore the many aspects of marketing whilst continuing to develop my knowledge of business.
