Your programme of study

Foundation year

Designed for international students who require a preparatory year prior to undergraduate study, the foundation course is equivalent in learning to year 13 of the UK education system. Successful completion of year 1 of the foundation course will also guarantee you progression onto the Business Management BSc (Hons) programme. You will need at least 100 credits, an average of at least 60%, at least 60% in Academic English and Study Skills and at least 65% in Quantitative Methods for Business and Economics.

We will ensure you're fully prepared for your undergraduate programme, immersing you in the university environment and giving you dedicated support in your first year in Dubai, on our business management foundation course.

The BSc Business Management degree with industrial placements

In today's global business landscape, engaging with diverse markets and cultures is essential, and this international perspective is integrated into the majority of our modules. Our business management course also provides a comprehensive understanding of current topics like digital marketing, global entrepreneurship, and management tactics, all while fostering a commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Year one is an introductory year and introduces the key themes of the programme, e.g. marketing, organisational behaviour, accounting and finance. In year two we adopt a generalist approach although modules begin to become more focused and specialised. Year three of the course features modules that are increasingly focused. The year is underpinned by a compulsory dissertation which will allow you to investigate an area of personal interest in more depth.

You will also undertake two work placements, the first in the summer vacation at the end of year one and the second in the summer vacation at the end of year two.

The quality of teaching is like no other. Having a flying faculty ensures that we have access to the same quality of teaching at the Edgbaston campus.
