A day in my life

I attend my classes and use the leisure hours between classes to connect with friends from around the world. I like participating in different activities around campus and try to keep myself busy and active.

Why Birmingham Dubai?

The University of Birmingham is well known for its quality education, high ranking, and global reputation. The Dubai campus also gives me the opportunity to look for internships and part-time jobs, as Dubai is filled with great job opportunities.

I grew up in Saudi Arabia, making me very comfortable and familiar with the Gulf culture. Studying in Dubai as an international student makes me feel more at home and less homesick. Moreover, being able to speak Arabic as a Chinese native in the Middle East also provides me with the convenience of finding internship opportunities.

Why I chose to study Accounting and Finance at Birmingham Dubai

I have been passionate about business from a young age, and studying BSc Accounting and Finance helps me gain valuable skills that will always be useful in different fields.

My Birmingham Dubai experience

I attended my first University events during Welcome Week, and since then, I’ve attended almost all events on campus. Highlights include the Careers Fair, 125th Anniversary Celebration and National Day.

I enjoy hanging out with friends on and off campus. We try new coffee places and restaurants together and help each other improve in different areas.

Birmingham Dubai’s impact

Careers Network events, such as the Careers Fair, have helped me receive my first internship offers and opened my doors to the job market.

I’ve also received scholarships throughout my studies, which have supported me along the way.

Advice for students

University is the time when you explore your capabilities and the possibilities of your future. Do not hesitate and take steps towards trying new things and challenging yourself.
