Jen migrated to England as part of the Windrush generation. Her young daughter, Sunshine, remained in Jamaica. Aunt Jen and Letters Home by Professor Paulette Ramsay tell their stories through diary entries and letters, shedding light on the daily lives of the first Windrush generation immigrants and their families, and the profound and lasting effects of their experiences.

Paulette will be reading from her books and discussing Black writing, followed by a Q&A, book signing and the opportunity to purchase her books.

When visiting the building, we recommend that wheelchair users and those with limited mobility access the venue via Bridge Street, before entering through the North Entrance. This entrance is accessible by ramp and has fully automated doors for easy entry. You'll also find ramp access at the South Entrance, which is located off Bank Court.
