Signing Shakespeare

In this presentation, Dr Abigail Rokison-Woodall and Angie Wootten celebrate the development of new resources by the RSC specifically designed to support deaf learners’ engagement with Shakespeare’s plays – in particular Macbeth!

The presentation will explore the challenges encountered by deaf children so far in approaching the playwright’s works, the development of a new approach using ‘rehearsal room technique ‘and ‘embodied cognition’ and the final launch of materials based around signed resources.
