Lichen

Lichens come in all kinds of different shapes, sizes and colours - green, brown, white and even red. Just like humans, they love clean air, so they can tell us a lot about the air we’re breathing – if there are fewer types of lichens in an area, the air is probably too polluted.

Discover the amazing world of lichens through movement and drama with artist Sarah Hamilton Baker. Get up close to real specimens, be inspired by their shapes, colours and textures and create your own artwork to take home.

The event costs £3.00 per child, booking essential

This event is presented as part of The Air We Breathe, a brand-new public programme, with an exhibition, activities and events that explore the close relationships between us, our environment and our air quality.
