CEPLER warmly welcomes Judge Mirjana Lazarova Trajkovska as a forthcoming speaker in the esteemed Leaders in Law lecture series.

Judge Trajkovska has been a judge of the European Court of Human Rights since 2008, and became a section president and thus one of the Court's most senior judges in 2015. Prior to joining the Court as the judge in respect of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Chair of the Council of Democratic Elections (since 2007). She has extensive experience as a judge at national and international level, as a government lawyer, and as an expert advisor and observer on electoral matters, on which topic she has also published extensively.

This lecture is part of CEPLER's International Law Week, a key event in Law School students' careers calendar. Judge Trajkovska will reflect on her time on the Court and, particularly, on the challenges facing the European Court of Human Rights and mechanisms for securing its future.

Following the lecture, Judge Trajkovska will engage in a Q&A about both the Court and her career as an internationl lawyer and judge.
