There's an Ichthyosaur in the Museum!

Live on site!

Paleoartist, Bob Nicholls will be sculpting a life size Ichthyosaur live in the Lapworth Museum of Geology over the Summer Holidays! Watch as our Ichthyosaur begins to take shape, find out about life in the Jurassic Seas and discover more about the creative world of Paleoart.

Join us on the 8th of August to welcome Bob and his Icthyosaur to the Museum! Meet the marvellous Mary Anning, the Geologist who discovered the first Icthyosaur and get stuck into some creative crafts! Activities range from performances to stories and much, much more!

Mary will be on site all day but will be telling visitors about her life story at 13:00-13:30 and again 16:00-16:30 - Not to be missed!!

Bob will be on site 30th July - 3rd August, 6th August - 10th August, 13th August - 17th August, 20th August - 22nd August and 19th of October - 23rd of October.

**Please note these dates are subject to change, if you are visiting specifically to see Bob then please call ahead**

All our activities are free of charge and first come first served - there is no need to book.
