Entry requirements

The following information is for guidance only and should be used together with the University's general entrance requirements and any specific degree programme requirements. 

Please note: If you have taken exams which are from another country's national education system (eg the Arbitur from Germany or SAT and AP exams from the USA) you should consult the country specific section for that country for qualification equivalence information. If you are unsure about the acceptability of your qualifications for entry to Birmingham please contact us for further details.

Foundation Pathways

We accept students who have completed 12 years of education and the Maw 6 (M6) certificate and the national entrance examination for all state institutions (WEE - Written Entrance Examination) results. For our Foundation programme a good level of achievement is a minimum of 70% is required.

Undergraduate

The University will consider students who have taken A Level examinations and the International Baccalaureate (IB) for entrance to undergraduate programmes. 

Students with good grades in their High School Certificate (M6) and a recognised one year foundation qualification may be considered for entry to an undergraduate degree programme. 

Alternatively one or two years of university level study at a recognised university in Thailand may be considered for entry to an undergraduate degree programme. Students need to achieve a sufficiently high score overall in their university level study (3.0+/4.0).

Postgraduate

Holders of a good Bachelor degree (minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0) from a recognised institution will be considered for postgraduate study at Diploma or Masters level.

English Language

You may be required to provide evidence of your English ability. Please view the entry requirements for specific programme requirements.
