Our collections

The Barnes Library holds the main collections (books and journals) in Biosciences, covering all the Life Sciences. The Barnes Library is located in the Medical School.  

Particular collection strengths for undergraduate courses are: cell biology, conservation biology, ecology, evolution and molecular microbiology.

Material for taught postgraduate courses includes toxicology and related public health. There is some overlap with material for courses run by the Medical School. There are also good collections for postgraduates studying botany and ornithology.

Interdisciplinary research areas include molecular and cell biology; molecular microbiology; organisms and environment.
