Our new library
Our new £60 million main library is at the heart of the University campus and provides state-of-the-art facilities for students, staff and researchers.
The building has been tailor-made to suit modern users’ needs and houses a variety of learning spaces to cater for different modes of study.
There are more than 2.1 million printed books and journals, 40 miles of shelving, access to skills support and innovative tools to enhance learning in the 21st Century, including wireless mobile charging, media rooms and video editing booths.
The library is open 24 hours a day during term time and has a range of learning spaces, flexible, technology-rich training rooms and state-of-the-art designated research areas.
The light-filled, inspirational learning environment features a power point at every study desk, hundreds of PCs, with more than 150 bookable, loanable laptops and knowledgeable staff on every floor ready to help.
