Douglas Johnson-Poensgen is a Managing Director in Barclays Retail and Business Bank responsible for workplace banking, helping employers offer their employees an attractive package of financial benefits.  He joined Barclays to set up this new business 7 months ago.

He joined Barclays from Aimia, a global leader in loyalty management, where he was the management board member responsible for global business development.  Before that he led a £450m business in BT Global Services following executive roles in business development, strategy and business transformation. Prior to joining BT he was a management consultant, which followed an enjoyable 9 years serving in the British Army.

Outside he’s a keen cyclist, photographer and wine enthusiast.

Q&A Session

Do you want to talk to someone who has built an extremely successful career within such companies as BT Global Services, Serco, Barclays and Aimia? Do you want to obtain first-hand advice on how to develop a successful career within the Banking and Services sectors? If so, this is an opportunity not to miss!

As part of his visit, Doug is keen to offer a small number of students the opportunity to quiz him for an hour before the lecture on his experiences of developing a successful career incorporating several senior positions within the Banking and Services sectors including Aimia where he was responsible for Global Business Development, and BT Global Services where he led a £450m business following executive roles in business development, strategy and transformation.

Subsequently, we are seeking 6-8 enthusiastic students who would like to find out more about how to build a career in these sectors and gain valuable hints and tips on what makes an employable graduate – very useful if you are looking to develop a career in this sector.
