Join DJ Taylor for a discussion about his latest project: a biography of George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949).
Taylor's Orwell: The Life won the 2003 Whitbread Biography Award. With the 70th anniversary of the publication of Nineteen Eighty-Four due next summer, he is writing a biography of Orwell's famous novel, from its conception and its roots in Orwell's early life through to the circumstances of its writing and its long after-life, symbolised by the dramatic surge in sales in the week of Donald Trump's inauguration.
N.B. This event is aimed at University of Birmingham students in the first instance, but all are welcome.
