From 21-25 May, 10 Shakespeare Institute MA students will work intensively with RSC Movement Director Ayse Tashkiran, exploring the provocation: How can performance and scholarship get closer to and illuminate the violence of our times (including non-physical violence, silencing, the everyday violence of ideology)?

The week will include Q&As with cast and creatives from The Duchess of Malfi: Floriana Dezou, Joan Iyiola, Will Brown, Alex Cobb, and Chris New. The students will also participate in a music workshop led by Music Director of The Duchess of Malfi David Ridley and a fight workshop led by Fight Director for the production Ruth Cooper-Brown.

The week will cumulate with a performative sharing attended by University of Birmingham and RSC staff.
