• Professor Wendy Cavendish, Department of Teaching & Learning, University of Miami

Wendy joined the University of Miami faculty in 2007. Her research examines the relationship between institutional processes involved in educational decision making for diverse youth at-risk for or placed in special education and the educational and behavioral trajectories of these youth. 

• Professor David Connor Professor Emeritus, Hunter College Graduate School, City University of New York

David has worked in the field of education for thirty years as a classroom teacher, tutor, teacher coach, regional professional development specialist, adjunct instructor, and full time professor. His research interests include learning disabilities, inclusive education, disability studies, and qualitative research methodologies. 

• Dr Taucia Gonzalez Ph.D. Assistant Professor, Disability and Psychoeducational Studies, University of Arizona

Taucia is an assistant professor of special education whose research addresses issues of equity and inclusion for dual language learners with and without learning disabilities. She is currently examining how youth participatory action research can be used as a social design experiment to support learning and advance equity for dual language learners with and without learning disabilities. The second strand of her research focuses on preparing teachers to work at the intersection of language and ability differences.
