Biography

Richard Boocock enjoyed a 39-year career at Air Products & Chemicals Inc and has experience in almost every aspect of the industrial gases and hydrogen value chain, in all modes of supply, across a wide range of geographies.  Richard led, developed, and implemented significant strategic global investment and transformation programmes, both as a C-Suite executive business leader and Chief Information Officer.  He has particularly deep experience in large asset based business development in the Americas, Europe, Middle East and India.

He holds an Industrial Chair of Engineering Leadership at the University of Birmingham, is Visiting Fellow to the Dean's Office at Henley Business School,  is a Member of the Freedom of the Worshipful Company of Engineers, and holds a number of board roles.

He also works as a freelance consultant advising clients on a variety of topics, including hydrogen and the hydrogen economy, the energy transition, digital transformation, sustainability, and technology innovation and commercialisation.
A member of Henley Business Angels, Richard is an enthusiastic investor in, and supporter of, start-up companies.

He is a passionate supporter of diversity, inclusion and engagement in all aspects of his work and personal life, an experienced coach and mentor, and an accomplished public speaker.
